A cheap hotel near Grand Canyon National Park South Rim: Grand Canyon Inn
Are you looking for a cheap hotel close to the Grand Canyon South Rim? Spending the night in the park might be quite expensive, and you can’t be too late with booking. I’d recommend a good place to stay; the Grand Canyon Inn. The inn is located in Valle, between the National Park Grand Canyon and the town of Williams. Ideal for those who want to explore the National Park during the day and want to have dinner and explore Williams in the evening.
Hotel near Grand Canyon National Park
The Grand Canyon Inn is a 20-minute drive from the South Rim entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park. Before we check in, we buy some water and lunch for our visit to the Canyon, and go out for dinner in Williams. A bit too late we drive the last kilometers to Valle. The reception is already closed.
Fortunately, it is a family owned hotel and they are relaxed; stuck on the door of the reception is an envelope with our name written on it. In the envelope we find a welcome message, the room keys and a map. A late arrival is no problem! We stay two nights at the Inn and I can recommend this to everyone. The Grand Canyon Inn is a good alternative for spending the night in the park itself.
Grand Canyon Inn
The Grand Canyon Inn is a comfortable hotel, with spacious rooms equipped with air conditioning (a must in the summer) a flat-screen TV and a good WiFi connection. Furthermore, in the summer you can relax in the outdoor pool and there are plenty of free parking spaces. I recommend to drive to Williams to eat out in one of the typical American restaurants. The Inn also has a Western-style restaurant and bar, where you can have something to eat in the evening and have a beer.
If you stay at the Inn, make sure you visit the Valle Travel Stop and especially ‘Rocks and More’. The owner welcomes you enthusiastically, as is often the case in Arizona with a daring looking revolver on his belt, and shows you numerous minerals, petrified wood, and small pieces of the meteorite that is found further down the road.
